Veterinary Reproduction Consultancy

Led by Specialist Expertise

Veterinary Reproduction Consultancy was founded in 2018 by Dr Jasmin Hyatt, a Registered Specialist in Animal Reproduction (Theriogenology). Following extensive specialist training in Australia, New Zealand and the United States, Dr Jasmin established the practice to provide breeders and veterinarians with access to the highest level of reproductive expertise available.

Today, Veterinary Reproduction Consultancy is recognised as one of Australia’s leading specialist reproduction practices, welcoming clients from across New South Wales and beyond while continuing to support veterinarians through collaborative referral services and ongoing education.

Registered Specialist in Animal Reproduction (Theriogenology)

Dr Jasmin Hyatt is NSW/ACT’s only small animal Registered Specialist in Veterinary Reproduction. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (First Class Honours) in 2012, and after a few years in mixed animal practice across New South Wales and New Zealand, turned her focus to theriogenology — the science of animal reproduction.

Jasmin went on to complete a comparative theriogenology residency (spanning canine, feline, equine and bovine reproduction) through the American College of Theriogenologists at Matamata Veterinary Services in New Zealand, mentored by leading theriogenologists from New Zealand, Europe and the United States. During her residency she spent two seasons working with the theriogenology departments at Louisiana State University and North Carolina State University veterinary schools in the USA, experiencing the highest level of theriogenology services.

Jasmin became a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists and an Associate Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 2017, formally recognising her as a Registered Specialist in Animal Reproduction. She currently serves as Secretary of the Australian/New Zealand Reproduction Chapter and is a member of the Society for Theriogenology.

Beyond her practice at VRC, Jasmin’s expertise is sought well outside the consult room. Zoos and universities regularly approach her to collaborate on complex reproduction cases, and she’s a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars, sharing her knowledge with veterinarians and researchers across the field. Her research contributions include multiple peer-reviewed publications, among them a two-year study conducted in New Zealand that earned her the George Osborne Memorial Award from the Australian Cattle Veterinarians and was later published in the journal Clinical Theriogenology.

Outside of work, Jasmin lives in Orange with her young family, a Shetland Sheepdog named Monty, feline named Watson and numerous chickens and sheep!

Dr Elizabeth Jones

Reproduction Veterinarian

Dr Liz Jones graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Bachelor of Veterinary Science (first class honours). She began her veterinary career in mixed practice in north east Victoria and then Wagga Wagga.

Liz then completed a comparative theriogenology residency training program at Charles Sturt University where she gained a wealth of reproduction experience, particularly with horses and dogs but also cattle, sheep and other species. During this time Liz was heavily involved teaching reproduction skills and knowledge to Veterinary, Animal and Equine Science students at the University.

Liz is a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (Animal Reproduction) and the Australian Veterinary Association.

Dr Jasmin and Liz wrote a paper together in 2019 that was published in an international journal and have had a good working relationship since. You may meet Liz at the clinic on weekends or when Jasmin is unavailable. When Liz isn’t at VRC or doing general veterinary work she’s usually at home in Boorowa tending to her children and a menagerie that includes dogs, chickens, ducks, quails, canaries and one cat.

clients’ reviews

Dr. Jasmin and Cass truly care about their patients. They take the time to listen, understand the issues, and review previous consultations in detail. Their thorough approach leaves no stone unturned, and they provide a comprehensive letter that clearly outlines all possibilities along with recommended follow-ups. This makes it much easier to explore the next steps with confidence. I highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking answers to reproductive health concerns—their knowledge and dedication are outstanding.
